Work Schedule:
I designed this work schedule to balance our time so that everything is done properly and the tasks are carried out efficiently. This timetable allowed us to be more efficient when it came to completing our coursework as if we were confused or weren't sure what we had or hadn't completed by simply glancing at this timetable we are keeping up to date with all of our deadlines.
I colour coded the timetable so that we are aware by how much time we have till the deadline for our coursework.
Filming Schedule:
This filming timetable was constructed judging by the times that both myself and my partner sharonjit were available to film, we discussed with our film across and realised the more appropriate times to film would be after school so we would have more time and no disruptions Although we did not follow this exactly it became very useful as it gave us a brief outline of when to film.

The Proposal
The Proposal is about a female boss who forces her assistant to marry
her so that she can get her visa to stay in America or else she will be
deported back to Canada.
The conventions of this film have been challenged as it is usually the male who is the boss and the female who is the assistant, in a stereotypical situation however in this case the conventions have challenged as it is the role of the female who is played by Sandra Bullock’s who is a well known actor and hasn't usually been in a film where she would have a responsibility to maintain a high status.

In this film the pair are set out to complete the interview process in
order for Margaret (played by Sandra Bullock’s), but before this can happen
they must attend a weekend away at Andrew (main male character played by Ryan
Reynolds) family home. She is shocked to learn that he comes from a wealthy
family and asks why she works for him. She finds out a few truths about him as
does he her and the pair slowly start to fall for each other. They are reminded
midway why they are together in the first place; also Andrew’s ex turns up
which Margaret thinks rekindles for him however she is mistaken.
In the end despite the false beginning they get together and pass the
interview allowing Margaret to stay in America.
In this movie trailer there are over 100 shots. This is including all
production companies everything from beginning to end. This allows us to be
aware of how many shots we will need to include in our work.
The genre of the film is a hybrid and is romantic comedy & drama,
this can encourage many people to watch the film as Sandra Bullock has had a
successful career she is likely to have starred in many films particularly
romantic comedies. This can make the audience want to watch the film as they
will not see her usual character instead they will be surprised.
Titanic:
Titanic shows the
controversial insight between a rich young girl and a poor young man who falls
in love however whose social class interferes with them being together and
together that must strive away from this.
Jack Dawson, a young
man who believes you do not need to have money to be happy.
Rose Dawson, a young girl who learns freedoms when she meets Jack, he teaches her that you do not need money to be happy.
This issue can have an impact on people of today’s day and age as majority people are jobless and do not have much money however this story proves they do not need money to be happy.
The other end of the line:
The other end of the line is a romantic comedy which shows the controversial side of two people from two different ethnic and cultural backgrounds and how they fall in love and want to be together despite their family’s approval.
A young aspirational girl from India works in a Call centre and deals
with a client, Granger Woodruff who is played by Jesse Metcalfe. They start to
form a ‘cyber’ relationship as the pair share many interests and they seem to
speak on the line quite a lot. She decides to visit him in his country and doesn't tell him it’s her who is Jennifer David from the call centre instead
she meets him on other terms and the two meet and bond quickly. Their feelings
for each other increase rapidly as they spend a lot of time together. Her
family however find out about her going to see him and want to prevent anything
happening any further. When her family have reached America her father reveals
her identity as Jennifer David from City One bank, the call centre which she
works in. this creates suspense between the two, later on she returns back to
India and the next day, Granger follows her there. He declares his love for her
and the pair share there moment with a kiss.
The two controversial backgrounds indicate that interfaith
marriages are becoming more common in society. Not only that it encourages
other people from different ethnic backgrounds to go and explore the world and
find someone.
The fact that both of them are from different countries and different cultures and are still willing to be together despite all the chaos they will have to go through there love is strong enough.

Codes & Conventions
Codes & Conventions
- Often Romantic Comedies have two protagonist which are normally a male and a female
- They both fall for each other but there is a problem or they can't admit it
- They eventually get together ( happy ending )
- The target audience is normally young teenage girls and older
- The protagonist are both very attractive
- The trailer normally has a voiceover introducing characters
- Often set in a busy area, work/urban environment
- Soft, romantic music
- Gender role for both male and females are typical stereotypes of gender
- Some nude, sexual scenes
- Clothing - smart, quite sexy
- Colours associated - red, pink
- Male Protagonist rather funny, tries to impress lady
How are we going to challenge these conventions?
Firstly we are going to challenge the conventions by making the gender roles less stereotypical, for example in the beginning of the film the girl has a masculine side as she likes to dress like a boy and does not care about the way she looks.
Also we are trying to make the target audience boys aswell as females.

Skills
Useful Editing tips and Research
- Some trailers don't have many effects they just jump from shot to shot
- Try go with the pace of the music and try make your shots go with the music
- A trailer should structure the film
- The Trailer should not give away the whole narrative
- know the theme and feeling you want your viewer to feel
-Don't make the length of the trailer too long
- Try to sell the story
- Don't put too much text
- Set a budget for your trailer
- Keep the tone going
- Work on the music
- Introduce the main parts ( can include todorovs theory)
- Introduce the characters
Soundtrack - Garageband
I researched on youtube tracks that were made from Garageband, because i felt Garageband was too simple, however I found that you could make nice tracks on Garage band.
On the left hand side is a screen shot of a tutorial video I used from Youtube. It was useful because it showed me the basics and outline of garageband.
Using different programs
For our website I tried different programs as I wanted to make my website look quite proffesional.
Therefore I tried using Dreamweaver aswell as wix.

Just Go With It - Pg13
The film is targeted at kids as it is a PG 13, therefore the romantic comedy could be targeted at families because it has Adam Sandler starring in it and it also has a few sex jokes. But I think that the sex jokes and women in bikinis is a bit explicit for kids aged 13. The target audience is both male and females as the protagonist is a funny male character who likes females.
